Medford

We left Gord and Gail’s this morning (see attached photo Gord texted me) at about 10:30am and crossed the boarder into the US with no issues and not even a line up. We were the only car there! What a breeze. We were so thankful to be able to cross with no covid testing, or lockdowns. The highway was slushy and wet most of the way through northern Washington, but the snow gave way to rain. We made it as far as Medford Oregon and decided to spend the night here.

On to San Jose CA in the morning.

Thanks,

A Good Night

You may or may not have known about the flooding in BC last month and the destruction of our major highways. Due to the road closures we had to take a detour through Princeton. Highway 3 had been closed too, but it recently opened. It added a few more hours to the trip to Surrey last night, but we made it safe and sound. The roads were treacherous. Ice and compact snow, though the scenery was beautiful since it was not snowing at the time. We saw at least 10 cars and/or Semi’s overturned in the ditch. I was reflecting last night that these roads are actually doable with a little wisdom, experience and patience – patience being very key. We drove very gingerly and slow keeping a care of traction, speed. Avoiding breaking traction is key. Going down hill around curves are the worst. We will leave the snow tires on the car for this trip.

I was reflecting this morning about the wisdom and patience. “Where does it come from?” “Who does it belong to?” These thoughts made me think of you and your prayers as I reflected on the presence of these things in our hearts as we drove. Thank you for upholding us thus far and we appreciate your prayers for us now as we continue. Surrey got about 8″ of snow last night. We plan to be at the border crossing in a few hours from now after breakfast with Gord, Gail and Gina.

Much love to you,

On the Road

The car is loaded up and we are about to hit the highway this morning! It’s -25 C. outside with unseasonably cold winter weather forecast all the way into northern California. Ice and compact snow etc… We have 3,500 kms of highway to travel. It is a strange time of life these days with new regulations being put into effect and one never knows what to expect at border crossings. We have several stops along the way before we arrive into Mexico. There is a lot of expensive recording equipment in the car. There are viruses floating about out there. We will miss our children and grandchildren. We have one church to speak at on Jan 2. There are may unknowns before us, but we sense the Lord Jesus leading us and would definitely appreciate your prayers for us as the Spirit leads you to pray and for these things also:

    • Traveling mercies
    • Protections from theft
    • Car performance (car is getting old)
    • Health
    • Good and sweet fellowship in the car
    • To be filled with the Spirit in our interactions along the way
    • To be focused on what God is doing rather than what the world is doing
    • To be aware of divine appointments

We hope to be arriving into Mexico sometime the week of January 10th. Classes start at the Bible school on the 17th.

“…in journeys often…”
2 Corinthians 11:26a

Thank you so much for your partnership! We really feel it and would be nothing without it,
