Arrived in Mexico

“Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.”
2 Corinthians 2:14

Just a quick note to say we made it safe and sound to Mexico on American Thanksgiving, Nov 28th. We had departed Clearwater, BC on the 14th, which put us exactly 2 weeks on the road. Wow, what a wonderful, wonderful trip we had. Thanks so much to each of you who blessed us and for all of you who were thinking of us and praying for us. I’m amazed by the steady hand of the Lord guiding us and moving us along. To think we almost didn’t come this year due to lack of funds and as we stepped out in faith, being persuaded that God wanted us to do so, He fully and abundantly supplied our lack.

We stayed in one motel and five different houses in total. Each location presented a unique and good experience, but the source of them all was Christ. We departed seeking to be vessels through which God could diffuse the fragrance of Christ in every place, but found that rather it was through you, that God diffused this fragrance and blessed us. Thank you.

Presently we are setting up in Mexico before I leave again to MN on Tuesday. I’ve been invited there to potentially do some fund raising for our ministry.

Today, I received the first podcast recorded by the P’s in their recording studio and with the equipment which we set them up with. It was very well done! Lot’s of exciting things happening. I will update you on them later, but for now wanted to let you know we made it to Mexico.

Heading Out

I’ve written this update two times. Both times it disappeared. Very strange. I’m sending this one without verses, formatting, or much detail.

We leave tomorrow. God has overwhelmingly led us to depart. Hope to arrive to Mexico on November 28th. Asking for travel mercies and sweet fellowship on the road,

Efraín and Plans

EFRAÍN
I got a phone call yesterday from Efraín. He was again so grateful and filled with joy because they had taken the feeding tube out of his throat. He could now talk effortlessly and I noticed instantly his normal speech. On top of that, he’s now able eat food normally! Wow, the simple things of life, to be able to taste your food!

I don’t see a lot of improvement with his bodily movements, like his arms and legs, but he’s still hopeful. Just wanted to pass on his thanks to you and ask you might say a prayer for him today, as you also take time to give thanks to God for the blessings in your own life. I think of that a lot… To be able to walk, work with your hands, even play sports. How blessed we are. Remember Efraín.

TIM & ROBIN
Robin and I have been waiting on the Lord’s leading regarding our typical missions trip to Mexico and Colombia this year. In light of insufficient funding, we considered not going this year as costs continue to rise. Having prayed and given it to the Lord, we sense the Lord is leading us to go anyway. So we will trust him and go as far as we can. Whether I make it to Colombia remains to be seen. I appreciate your prayers for us in these things. We plan to depart mid November and drive to Mexico.

MUSIC
I have been given the opportunity to professionally record all my P songs which I wrote and composed over the past year. There are 6 of them. I’m scheduled to record on October 28th. Also the Lord blessed Elendie with a new guitar and amp. Last year we had some funding designated specifically for this project and so Russel used it to purchase him new guitar and amp in Bogota. He’s so pumped and he continues to create music in P. It’s beautiful. I am putting it into my radio programs which air 30 minutes per day. The P’s are loving the radio program.

RADIOS
The Lord provided for 1,000 more radios which are being produced right now! These radio devices are solar powered and also have a huge memory chip inside them. We have included the entire P audio NT so they will be able to listen even when there is nothing on the air. Pray they make it to Colombia in time for the next conference in January. We may be able to produce more than 1,000 as Galcom just let me know that they may have some extra funding for more.

BOOK
I have been co-authoring a small book together with my brother Brent. The book consolidates the imperative sayings of Jesus in his sermon on the mount. It is meant to provide a brief commentary on each saying and promote a time to meditate and pray each day about how to apply these sayings to your own life. The book is nearing completion. When it’s done, it will be available to purchase on Amazon.

BIBLE STUDY
My son Jared and his wife Natalie started a Bible study with another young couple and asked me to teach it while here in Canada. We are going through an overview of the Bible. It’s refreshing to see the hunger they have. If you would like to pray for us that the Lord would open our eyes together as we learn from him, it is appreciated much.

Much love to you, grace and peace from our heavenly Father,

Home

Greetings from Clearwater BC!

Just to thank you for your prayers. I had a wonderful trip home, though it was lonely in the car without Robin, it was a rich time of reflection. I listened to “Practicing the Way” by John Mark Comer (phenomenal book), several Louie L’Amour books and C.S. Lewis’s masterpiece “Mere Christianity” as well as a lot of music and quiet times of prayer on my journey home. I would highly recommend any believer or non-believer to read Mere Christianity. I enjoyed many scenic landscapes and a few great night sleeps in hotels.

God is so good. Fernando is working now on all the songs that I composed in P and I’m gearing up to hit more radio programs as soon as I get settled in again. We have received $10,000 USD so far for the radios which is enough for 500 new radios, for 500 new homes in the jungle which will greatly impact thousands of Ps! PTL. Keep the prayers coming! One $20 radio will have a huge impact on many lives so don’t think that any gift amount is too small.

Love to all with thanks,

t.

Jorge & Sole

You will remember how, years ago, God gave us a special friendship with Jorge and Sole. You may remember how they had started coming to San Carlos in quest of growing spiritually. When I first met Jorge, I asked him, “what brings you to San Carlos?” He being a believer and me not knowing, me being a believer and he not knowing, he answered honestly and said, “I am coming here to get away from the city and to seek a relationship with the Spirit.” When I heard that, in my inside voice, I said to myself, “what ‘spirit’ is he talking about?”

It indeed turned out, as you will remember, that it was the Spirit of God. He had at that time and still has today a genuine desire to grow spiritually in Christ. From that time many years ago till now God has done so many things in their personal lives and has given them a wonderful ministry pastoring the Agape Christian Fellowship church here in San Carlos. I see them doing wonderful things and I see the Lord using them in wonderful ways. Consequently I see fruit from their ministry and likely around the corner things may be about to take off. They are even talking about beginning a Spanish service in addition to the English service. They are involved all over the community in the lives of many people, believers and unbelievers. They are truly a light shining in a dark place.

I am writing this letter specifically for the purpose of asking those of you who would desire to do so, to add them to your prayers. Robin and I just came back from their house and they were sincerely asking for prayer. You know how vulnerable we all are to the attacks of the enemy and the pitfalls of the flesh when we do not pray, or when we are not prayed for. If you don’t feel led to remember them regularly in your prayers, please at least say a prayer for them.

  • Pray for their marriage.
  • Pray protection from spiritual attacks.
  • Pray for Jorge especially as his mother’s cancer is back at an “advanced” level. She is in Tucson and Jorge doesn’t have a visa to go see her. This really weighs heavily on his heart.

Thank you. They mean a lot to us and we know that the Lord connected us together with them.
