It’s been a busy week online with the P’s. On Aug 12-14, there was a church planting consultant from Bolivia who traveled to Venezuela and met in person with a group of P pastors. There were 40 or 50 pastors. I was privileged to attend via virtual internet connection. The consultant presented the seminar in Spanish and Rudy translated it into P. They both did a phenomenal job. They regularly asked me to participate and I too was able to speak to the P pastors right from my office in Canada. Incredible. It was a joy to hear all the feed back from the P’s during the seminar and the topics the consultant raised were so pertinent and helpful for the P church at large. Many were greatly encouraged with fresh direction and motive. Topics such as women in the church, Children’s ministries, Literacy, False groups and Discipleship were some among many of the topics.
Then on Sunday, I was invited to share a message via the internet as well, but this time in another village far up river. Actually, it was the village where we used to live. It was again touching to hear from various pastors and friends there. There were 53 churches represented and 912 people present. There is a P missionary which was trained through the national missionary training center that our old mission established. His name is Alexander. He is a P and works with a neighboring tribal group, now as a missionary. He was invited to this conference as the main speaker and is teaching through Daniel and Revelation over a course of a few weeks. After many of the P’s there greeted me, standing in front of the camera, they then “passed the mic” to me as guest speaker Sunday morning and I was able to greet them and share some thoughts from John 8. The Lord had spoken to me from the words, “the light of life”, John 8:12 “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” There is so much to unpack from the words darkness and light and life.
If you would like to pray for this conference and specifically for Alexander as he preaches all day long for the rest of the week and also for his wife and kids as they face the challenges of living in another isolated culture and language, I know they would greatly appreciate it. I’m not sure when they will head back to their mission field.
