Bumps on the road, but onward we go

Thank you for your prayers. Much appreciated.

I waited another 6 hours in the airport last night. I enjoyed relaxing. I had some chicken noodle soup and a coffee. I even watched a hockey game on the screen of the airport restaurant. It was finally time to board my plane and we headed off in the night at 1:00 a.m. I got a little bit of rest on the plane; it was actually rather cold. But leaning my head against the window wall, I drifted in and out of sleep a few times during that 4 and 1/2 hour flight. When the sun began shining through my window, we were approaching Bogota. I was exhausted with a sore neck, LOL. I got up to use the restroom and I heard the pilot make an announcement:

“Unfortunately the airport in Bogota is closed so we are having to go to Cali and land there.”

I thought I must be hearing things, but it turned out I wasn’t. The airport in Bogota was closed due to heavy fog, so we had to take an alternative route 30 minutes out of the way and landed at another airport. We had to stay in the plane and wait. I was getting hungry by this time and thirsty so I asked the attendant for some food and she gave me some nuts and water, which was a tremendous blessing. I dozed on and off again in my familiar seat. We had to wait there on the ground another 4 hours until the fog lifted.

I was mainly worried about arriving to Bogota high elevation and getting that nausea again. I made sure I kept hydrating as much as I could. Finally we took off and landed in Bogota at around 10:30 a.m.

I got through customs effortlessly and Russell was there to meet me outside the door. I couldn’t tell if I was dizzy or not, I think just due to the lack of sleep. We went to Russell’s house I ate some breakfast and went to bed. I slept so deep I couldn’t wake up even though I was trying to.

Bottom line is thank you for your prayers I feel good now. I’m off to bed early in order to get up at 3:00 a.m. to head to the Border, to what they call “Tierra Caliente”

I will likely have no internet connection for the next 8 days. But I will have a connection in my heart through the Holy Spirit to you. Thank you for journeying with me.

Doing what I can to serve the Lord Jesus for this short stint in the world.
